A popup pocket park, led by the Design Committee

Madison Square Park.

A new green gathering space in the heart of downtown — part of our 2025 work to make Aurora more inviting.

Madison Square Park is a popup pocket park project led by the Aurora Downtown Project Design Committee — a new, welcoming green space in the heart of downtown Aurora where families can gather, friends can connect, and our community can grow together.

What’s planned

The park will turn an underused downtown space into a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors alike — adding greenery, seating, and community life right downtown. When it opens, it will give everyone another reason to slow down, linger, and enjoy the heart of Aurora.

How it’s being funded

  • Private donors — the generosity of private donors in our community is making Madison Square Park possible.
  • Aurora Area Community Foundation — a grant to support the park, announced at the 2026 Aurora Chamber of Commerce Banquet.
  • Drives for Downtown golf tournament — proceeds from ADP’s annual tournament raise funds for downtown revitalization, including the pocket park.

How to help

Madison Square Park is being built by neighbors. Want to be part of bringing it to life? Get involved — volunteer with the Design Committee, donate, or become a sponsor.

Watch this space — we can’t wait to share more updates as Madison Square Park begins to take shape.
